Since the 1920's the game has changed in many ways with rules changing and even the uniform making numerous changes over the years. However, what many people don't know is that some of the changes in football have left multiple football players with gruesome injuries and in most cases now, injury to the brain. Unfortunately because of these injuries in the brain, football players have been shown to change emotion and become violent due to head to head helmet hits. Helmet to helmet injuries not only affe...

Football players are now exhibiting very serious injuries to the brain because of helmet to helmet hits and it's causing a lot of trouble around the NFL. These brain injuries are shown to cause death and it's starting to become more and more noticeable when retired football players are dying at young ages. NY Times Opionator Article by Gavin Miller

NY Times Opionator Article: Cavs Struggle               Growing up I've always been a very big fan of basketball, I love everything about it. While being a big fan of the sport I'm also a really big fan of watching it as well. With that being said the NBA is my favorite to watch and talk about to friends, family, etc. I have noticed over the years though that some of the articles are made solely to degrade a player or simply a team on its own, but Marc Stein seems to have done both at the same time. Simply put, if you are to use Lebron James name in any article you are going to attract a large following of people: the media will criticize Lebron James regardless of whether or not he is playing good or not. In this case, Lebron James team isn't playing well, but Lebron James himself is having an MVP type s...

Blog Introduction Gavin Miller

Introduction                 The classes I had last semester involved me writing a lot in most of my assignments. The two biggest ones were Critical Reading and Sociology, Sociology being the most, which was very shocking for me. In Sociology we had to complete a journal entry every week that included us writing up to 400 words each journal entry. At first I thought it would be really time consuming but most journals I did only took me up to ten or fifteen minutes to do so hopefully I am able to use that ability in this class. However, in Critical Reading I did a few projects that involved me writing up to about two or three pages.  I feel like I could be a strong and competent writer if I wanted to be, I ju...
