Does playing football make you violent?  -Logos-             Gavin Miller

As many people know, football is a very physical sport that has lead to many injuries that affect the body in many ways. The brain being the most affected one, along with the most critical one that has lead football players to die at very early ages. Not only has it made people die but in multiple instances it has accordingly made football players get violent. According to Vox, a "degenerative brain condition" that many football players are found to have is caused by multiple helmet to helmet hits. Logically speaking these head injuries could be very well make football players violent. Dan Diamond made many claims about violence in his article titled "Does playing football make you violent? Examining in the evidence" in which he sited Ray Rice as being the biggest perpetrator.

Related image   In Naomi Shavin's article "Does head trauma cause people to be more violent?" she compares football players head injurys to those of Vietnam veterans. This however, is very absurd seeing as Vietnam veterans had several injuries, trauma, and more severe head injury's than your average football player. Even if they were to compare the head injuries, it'd be very silly at best seeing as you're essentially comparing someone who went into the war to someone who is payed millions to play football. In any case both are shown to be violent after the war and after playing football.

When people bring up any case that refers to football players and violence most people will talk about OJ Simpson. OJ Simpson "allegedlly" murdered his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Nicole's friend Ron Goldman. OJ Simpson was found not guilty but was later arrested for battery and robbery and was thrown in jail. This is a huge case seeing as OJ Simpson took multiple helmet to helmet to hits as a running back when he played. Whether it is Ray Rice or OJ Simpson there have been countless more acts of violence from football players and one day it'll show that these head injury's are more severe than people may think.
